Malbec’s story is one of loss, survival, and rebirth. Once thriving in France, this bold red nearly vanished forever when a devastating phylloxera outbreak in the 1800s wiped out vineyards across Europe. But Malbec found new life thousands of miles away in Argentina, where the high-altitude Andes air and sun-drenched soils helped it flourish into the grape we know and love today.
